Day 1 – The Pit & Dos Ojos

Who Is This Package For?

The Jungle Expert package is designed for experienced recreational scuba divers with strong buoyancy skills and recent diving experience.

Minimum Requirements

• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification or equivalent

• Appropriate experience for deeper recreational diving

• Recent scuba diving experience

• Excellent buoyancy and trim control

• Good gas management skills

• Comfort with guided cavern-zone environments

• Appropriate situational awareness

• Medical fitness for scuba diving

• Completion of required medical and liability documentation

• Ability to follow local guide instructions and safety procedures

Previous guided cenote diving experience is strongly recommended.

Some locations may require additional qualifications or experience beyond Advanced Open Water certification.

Important: Holding an Advanced Open Water certification does not automatically qualify a diver for every premium cenote. Participation depends on individual experience, demonstrated skills, site conditions, and the local guide's assessment.

Cenote Entrance Fees

Cenote entrance fees are not included in the base diving package.

Fees vary by location and are generally paid directly at the cenote in Mexican pesos.

Participants should bring sufficient cash for all scheduled cenote entrance fees.

Equipment Requirements

Participants must bring or arrange suitable scuba diving equipment.

Recommended equipment includes:

• Mask

• Fins

• Appropriate wetsuit or exposure protection

• BCD

• Regulator system

Dive lights are provided for the scheduled guided cenote activities.

Equipment rental may be arranged separately, subject to availability.

Nitrox & Advanced Dive Planning

Several premium cenote locations involve deeper recreational dive profiles.

Enriched Air Nitrox may be beneficial for appropriately certified divers when suitable for the planned dive.

Nitrox is particularly recommended for the Zapote and Maravilla diving day, subject to appropriate gas selection and dive planning.

All divers using Nitrox must hold a recognized Enriched Air certification or equivalent.

Nitrox does not authorize deeper diving. Maximum operating depth, oxygen exposure, no-decompression limits, gas reserves, and individual certification limits must always be respected.

Rui Diving Centre can help eligible students arrange PADI Enriched Air Diver training before their Mexico trip.

Cenote Diving Safety & Environmental Responsibility

Cenote diving is a specialized recreational activity requiring excellent buoyancy control, situational awareness, and careful gas management.

The Jungle Expert package consists of guided recreational cavern-zone dives.

It does not include technical cave diving, full cave penetration, or cave diving certification.

All participants must:

• Remain within their certification and experience limits

• Follow qualified local guide instructions

• Maintain excellent buoyancy and trim

• Respect designated recreational cavern routes

• Follow appropriate gas management procedures

• Avoid touching limestone formations

• Protect fragile freshwater environments

• Maintain buddy and guide awareness

• Comply with local diving regulations

Specific sites, depths, and routes are subject to the local guide's assessment and applicable safety requirements.

3. Certification & Experience

Participants must provide valid certification information and meet the requirements for all scheduled diving activities.

4. Medical Fitness

Participants must complete required medical documentation and obtain medical clearance when necessary.

5. Weather & Operational Changes

Dive sites, schedules, and activities may be modified due to weather, environmental conditions, site access restrictions, or safety concerns.

6. Equipment Rental

Scuba equipment rental is not included unless expressly confirmed in writing.

7. Entrance Fees

Cenote entrance fees are not included and must be paid separately unless specifically stated in the confirmed booking.

8. Travel Responsibility

Participants are responsible for flights, accommodation, travel documents, insurance, and personal expenses unless expressly included.
